360 STEPS AND TIMELINE
Step 1: Ask raters to complete 360
We encourage you to ask your raters as soon as possible so that they have enough time to provide thoughtful feedback.
Step 2: Enter the names of your raters online at the 360 Survey Respondent List
Once you know who your raters will be, enter their names online at the 360 Survey Respondent List no later than January 19. The Managing for Excellence Survey Respondent List will be activated in January, 2010.
Step 3: Your raters complete 360
Your raters will receive an email from MOR Associates that includes a link to the online 360 form. They should submit their feedback no later than February 5. The 360 survey will be closed after this date.
Step 4: You and your 360 coach receive report
MOR Associates will email your 360 report to you a few days before your scheduled meeting with your 360 coach.
Step 5: Interpret report with 360 coach and create development goals
You meet with your 360 coach in late February. You will learn about how to schedule this meeting during the program orientation.
Sample email to ask someone to be a rater
Dear [name],
I am currently participating in HR’s Managing for Excellence program, a six-month program to help me develop my strengths in managing individuals and groups. As part of the program, I am going through a 360 assessment, which is a process to gather feedback from a variety of people on my effectiveness as a manager. I will use this feedback as the foundation for development goals that I will create during the program. The feedback is confidential, except for the feedback from my manager, and I will not know how I was rated by any particular individual.
I’m writing to ask if you would be willing to provide me with feedback through my 360. Completing the 360 requires approximately 30-45 minutes, and the deadline to complete it is February 5.
If you are able to do this, please let me know. If so, you will receive an email from MOR Associates, an outside, independent consulting firm, that will include specific instructions about how to complete the 360.
I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have. Otherwise, I hope you will consider taking part in my 360 and helping me to get the most from this opportunity.
Thank you,
