We hope you had a wonderful holiday, a chance to disconnect as well as time to rest and renew.
With the onset of 2023 we would propose you take some time and project ahead to your desired future when December 2023 comes around. Outlining what you would like to see come to fruition this year is the first step in declaring your preferred future.
As you reflect on where you are and think about where you want to be, what will propel you on the next chapter of your leadership journey?
The moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred… Unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no person could have dreamed would have come their way. – J.W. Goethe
Here are four questions you could answer that will ensure you are embarking on this year with the intentions that will guide your behavior and influence the world around you in the months to come.
It is December 2023 and you have had a remarkable year. In looking back you are pleased at the progress that has been made or what has been accomplished this year. What are the 3 or 4 things (initiatives, projects, accomplishments) that have happened to make 2023 a remarkable year?
It is December 2023 and reflecting back on the year you can see how your capability has evolved in a way that you are at an elevated level of effectiveness. This year has been a game-changer for you, what has happened?
It is December 2023 and you are personally doing well. It has been a good year for you overall. What has happened to enhance your personal well-being? (did you adopt a practice to focus on your self-care, are you more present with others at home or with friends, are you achieving the balance you want, did you find noting 3 gratitudes a day helped create a more positive mindset …?)
If there is one thing, just one thing if you did this it would have the biggest potential benefit or a cascade of benefits? What is the one most beneficial thing you did?
Simply copy-and-paste the questions above somewhere you can add your answers and refer back to them throughout 2023.
Wishing a healthy and fulfilling New Year!
